The Reference Area contains current magazines and newspapers, VHS and DVDs, and the reference collection. Because of the carpet renovation, all of these materials except newspapers, will be housed in library room 208 until the renovation is complete. The newspapers are in the computer alcove in the main lobby area.

The reference collection at the John Grant Crabbe Main Library is a concise compilation of subject encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, and other authoritative reference materials.Reference books can help you define the scope of research on a given topic and provide ideas for a thesis statement or research question.

Those looking for a more reliable alternative to Wikipedia can find many of our reference materials online.
