2016 Library Research Award Winners Announced

EKU Libraries presented the third annual Library Research Award for Undergraduates at the 2016 University Scholars Assembly on April 15. The Award, made possible by the Friends of EKU Libraries, recognizes students whose research makes expert and creative use of library services, resources, and collections to produce a scholarly or creative work.  The Award is also supported by the Alpha Eta chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international sorority for women educators.

David Aeh won the 2016 Library Research Award for Undergraduates first place prize for his research submission, "Investigation of Hand Hygiene and Antibiotic Stewardship Program Effects on Hospital Associated Clostridium Difficile Infections: A Retrospective Study."  Rachel Gaines was presented with the second place prize and $500 for her research project, "Capital Punishment at Home and Abroad: A Comparative Study on the Evolution of the Use of the Death Penalty in the United States and the United Kingdom."  Maddy Swiney won the third place prize and $300 for her research submission, "The Effect of Personality on Turnout of Felons."
