Two Library Employees Nominated for Student of the Year
Two of EKU Libraries student employees were nominated for Eastern Kentucky University’s 2010 Student of the Year award.
Melissa Darland serves as both an assistant in the Dean’s Office and the Libraries’ graphic designer. Melissa’s colleagues say, “It is not just Melissa’s amazing design skills that are so impressive, but her professional approach to her student position. She is timely, always willing to help, goes above and beyond what is asked and even completes some work on her own time so as to make sure projects are finished successfully. She is talented, professional and a tremendous asset to EKU Libraries!”
Javonna Clay is a talented member of our Circulation and Periodicals Department. Her colleagues say, “What really makes her standout is that she genuinely cares about the people she helps and she puts the students first. She not only helps students she interacts with, she teaches them to use library resources. She empowers those that she comes in contact with to be better students and people.”
Congratulations to Melissa and Javonna for their nominations and for making such a powerful difference at EKU Libraries!
We couldn’t do it without all our talented student employees!
