The New World of Scholarly Publishing

March 18, 2011

Join us Friday, March 18, 2011 10-11:30AM in the Main Library’s Discovery Classroom 204D as Lee Van Orsdel, Dean of University Libraries at Grand Valley State University and former library dean at EKU, presents The New World of Scholarly Publishing.  In this special presentation, Van Orsdel will speak about scholarly publishing – how the internet, the open movement and a failing traditional system of publishing are profoundly changing the ways we create and share scholarship.  This session is for any person interested in learning more about new publishing models, the management of intellectual property rights, and options available to scholars who want to increase the impact of their research.

An opportunity for continued dialogue and conversation for attendees, originally scheduled to take place in the Research & Instruction Commons Cul-de-sac, has been moved to Hanger’s Restaurant, located at 2187 Lexington Road in Richmond, from 4-5:30PM that day.
