Nancy Jensen to Present Debut Novel
Join EKU Libraries, Department of English & Theatre and College of Arts & Sciences for a special presentation of The Sisters by author Nancy Jensen, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. in the John Grant Crabbe Main Library's Grand Reading Room. Jensen, a core MFA in Writing faculty member at EKU, has had work featured in numerous literary journals and was also awarded an Artist Enrichment Grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women and an Al Smith Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council.
Her newest work, The Sisters, a dazzling debut novel about the family bonds that remain even when they seem irretrievable torn apart, has already received excellent reviews. A review published in Kirkus exclaims, "this sprawling saga is tender and satisfying, with a heartbreaking end.” The novel has already been selected by O Magazine as one “10 Titles to Pick Up Now.” It is also one of four books chosen as “Goodreads” in this month’s Good Housekeeping. Whole Living magazine also includes the novel in its November issue as part of the feature, “Soul Food: Books That Feed.”
A book sale, signing and reception will follow Jensen's presentation. For more information, please contact Krista Zabawa Rhodus.
